Feeling Giddy at the Getty

If you know me you know I love traveling, however it takes a lot of money, effort, and time to plan. Playing tourist in your own city is just as exciting,  but more affordable and accessible. I have visited the Getty Museum in LA countless times, and it NEVER disappoints. There are always new exhibits of art, delicious (but expensive) food (you can totally bring your own and have a picnic on the lawn), and breath-taking views. This week my husband had a weekday off (YAY!), so we headed to the museum and made a day of it! The weather was so beautiful, and this duster dress from H&M was perfect for the breezy  warm day– did I mention it was only $15 on sale ?!

Palm Springs & Palm Trees

Staycations have become our new favorite vacations, and this weekend’s was my favorite! As a kid I remember driving to Disneyland from AZ and being mesmerized by the giant windmills in Palm Springs. Never did I imagine having a romantic weekend there some odd years later! But I can honestly say we had the best time staying at The Parker Palm Springs. From the moment you walk into the hotel you feel like you have been transported back to the 60’s with all the vintage looking decor! The rooms were minimal and modern, with touches of Jonathan Adler throughout.

Planning a trip is one of my favorite things, but planning my outfits is on a whole other level! I always check instagram for inspiration, looking at the destination’s tags to get the vibe.IMG_9976

This weekend I challenged myself to pack only 1 pair of shoes and wear the same accessories with every outfit! I can honestly say operation pack minimal was a success, and I actually wore everything I brought (which never happens due to over packing!) I also accessorized the scarf you see in the picture three different ways, which was super fun to style. BEST $14 ever spent! Every outfit you see is under $100!

Flirty Floral Date Night

Date nights are my favorite nights, especially Fridays when we get a break from hectic schedules! I look forward to just spending time and catching up on the week. I also love styling cute and flirty outfits for these evening nights out. And because LA’s spring is like every other season, shorts are a good investment when you live here. I stumbled upon these C/MEO Collective floral shorts from Marshalls for $29, and I am obsessed with the material (super comfy and soft!). You can dress these shorts up or down – I’ve already started thinking about how I would style them for a day-date. I think this may be my spring uniform, so sorry if you see me in these more than once. 🙂

Romping around Rodeo Drive

Hey my frugal fashionistas!

Believe it or not, Mondays are one of my favorite days of the week! I’m not a masochist — it’s mainly because I get to have lunch with my husband before he jets off for another week of work. And because we still had the Oscars on the brain, we decided to “fancy” things up and head over to Rodeo Drive for lunch at this cute place called Oliver Cafe.

The weather today in LA was so perfect, I may have forgotten how long I was going to be siting on the 405 on the way home (took only 45 minutes, which is record speed!).  Beverly Hills is one of my favorite spots in LA (obviously), and this romper from Harper Trends was perfect for our little lunch date!

I’m curious to know your favorite lunch spots in LA! Please list them below!

rooftop2HELLO U.S.A.!

So happy to back in LA after a 21 day trip with my husband to Thailand and Tokyo! We had an amazing time, and over the next few days I will be sharing my favorite looks from the trip. Packing for a vacation is one of my FAVORITE things to do!

Here are some tips/ inspiration for your Asian Adventure wardrobe:

First Stop Bangkok

It’s a crazy, hectic, and FAST moving city with beautiful temples, delicious Thai food, tuk- tuks that weave in and out of traffic like a boss, and the most beautiful rooftop bars, pools and views!

To respect Buddhist tradition,  you have to cover your shoulders and your ankles when visiting temples. I opted for a long black dress with a flower kimono, and gold shades to match the backdrop.  This look was super easy, comfortable and CHEAP!

Rooftop Bars and Pools:

Bangkok has so many of these with spectacular views. Luckily for us, this one was in the hotel, just a few floors up. The city was shrouded in perpetual smog (not surprising given the traffic jams below), but the views and sunset were breathtaking. I wanted to wear something simple and airy to deal with the HOT days and nearly hot nights, and this BCBG romper dress was perfect!

Desert Duds

Hope you all had a wonderfully relaxing holiday break. I don’t know about you but I am super excited about getting a fresh start in the new year. This year went by in the blink of an eye, and I am so thankful for all the memories! I started this little blog in July 2015, and I can’t wait to bring you more posts in 2016!

This year my husband and I rang in the New Year in Vegas! We had an amazingly fun time, but my greatest memory of the trip was a desert styled photo shoot. We stumbled upon a tire yard in the middle of nowhere, and took as many pictures as we could before the sun went down. It was FREEZING, but the pictures were totally worth it!!

I am so excited to note that this skirt is now ON SALE for $9! WHATT?!?!?!
